About this Course
Q How long will it take for me to complete this course? Must the course be completed in one sitting?
A Most participants find that it takes approximately 1 hour to complete this course. You may login and logout whenever you like. Each time you return to the course, you'll be able to start from where you left off.
 
Q Upon completion of the course, will I receive CME credit?
A Yes. To obtain credit, simply complete and pass the final exam. Participants who pass the course will be able to print a certificate that awards up to 1 category 1 credit for the course. Each physician should only claim credit for the time actually spent in the activity. Credit is issued and authorized through the Center for Advanced Medical Education, an organization accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME).
 
Q Is there a registration fee? Is there a charge for obtaining CME credit?
A There are no fees associated with this course or with obtaining CME credit.
 
Q Who is sponsoring this course?
A This course was planned and developed by joint sponsors NIA Creative, Inc. and the Center for Advanced Medical Education, in accordance with the Standards for Commercial Support for Continuing Medical Education. The Center for Advanced Medical Education is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to sponsor continuing medical education for physicians. Support for the activity has been made possible through an educational grant from RITA Medical, Inc.
 
Q Who is the intended audience for this activity?
A This CME activity is intended for oncologists and other health care professionals interested in non-surgical treatment of solid tumor cancers.
 
Q Does the faculty have anything to disclose?
A

Current guidelines state participants in CME activities should be made aware of any affiliation or financial interest that may affect the speaker's presentation(s) and/or who will be discussing off-label therapies.  It is the policy of NIA Creative and the Center for Advanced Medical Education to ensure balance, independence, objectivity, and scientific rigor in all joint-sponsored educational activities.  All planning committee and faculty members participating in any sponsored activity are required to disclose all relevant financial relationships in any amount occurring within the past 12 months.  The intent of this policy is not to prevent a speaker with a potential conflict of interest from making a presentation.  It is merely intended that any potential conflict should be identified and resolved prior to the activity, so that there is no commercial bias present in the presentation.  Failure by any faculty or planning committee member to disclose such relationships will result in their inability to participate in the CME activity.  In addition, all faculty members are required to disclose if a product is not labeled for the use being discussed or if the product is still investigational.

Q After completing this course, will I immediately be ready to ablate solid tumors in the kidney, liver and/or lungs?
A This course is intended to provide an overview about the platform of radiofrequency ablation in the treatment of solid tumor cancers.  As with any CME activity, physicians need to be aware that the information learned should be tempered with the doctor's own experience, prior education & training as well as the specific needs of each individual patient. The faculty and course developers have attempted to provide the most current and accurate clinical information available according to accepted medical practice standards at the time of this activity's release.
